2007 - School Football.
:: Melbourne Grammar 1st XVIII vs St. Kevins College- By Lurch.

St Kevin's is the form side of the APS competition, having recently picked up some handy new recruits. The result of their game with MGS was, unfortunately, much as expected: Grammar lost to the still-undefeated Skevvies.

The Skevvies did everything right, with hard, attacking, long-kicking footy, and their desperate defence prevented Grammar from capitalising on their entries into the 40m arc. The Dark Blues’ inaccurate kicking did not help, but, with 10 scoring shots to 27, it was far from the sole reason for the loss.

St. Kevin’s is perhaps the current favourite for this year’s APS premiership, with the game against Xavier being a key test. Grammar did its best to be competitive, and matched St. Kevin’s for much of the game.

MGS - 3.7.25
St Kevins College - 13.14.92

Goals: Ed Hughes, Angus Lapin, Hugh Vickers-Willis.
